The majority of people in the Greater Miami Metroplex work as contractors for one or more corporations. Of course being a contractor is not as desireable as being a corporate employee - which comes with perks such as higher pay, access to corporate housing, discounts at company stores, and increased job security.

Examples of employee carreers include: Management, Research Engineers, Product Development, Product Testing, etc.

Examples of contractors include: Research Technicians, Equipment Specialists, Security, IT, Security Consultants, etc.

In addition to corporate employment or contracts, many work as temporary, hourly laborers. This is also the only option for residents of the Cerrados.
