In Nismiram the most common divination practice makes use of the dezai playing cards.

Each of the high cards has a specific meaning.

The Leopard signifies hatred
The Bear signifies indifference
The Wolf signifies deception
The Boar signifies revenge
The Serpent signifies betrayal

Sun signifies wealth
Moon signifies safety
Star signifies travel
Tree signifies life
Crown signifies power

Each of the numbered suits also has a general meaning.

Cups signify sharing
Swords signify fighting
Crescents signify buying
Towers signify negotiating

The face cards represent individuals or groups

King or Queen of Cups signifies someone who cares, a relative, or friend
The Page of Cups signifies a caring group, family, or charitable organization

King or Queen of Swords signifies a soldier, warrior, peacekeeper, or mercenary
The Page of Swords signifies a militaristic group, army, or fighting guild

King or Queen of Crescents signifies a merchant, seller, or moneylender
The Page of Cups signifies a guild or company

King or Queen of Towers signifies a noble, mayor, or other person of political power
